More Prison Machines and Protests on the Board

Beverley has proved so fast on the Mighty Magneciser that it's hard to get a photo when her feet are not moving ! (see picture) Notice that she has worn out her blue 'booties' and we have had to call out for the new green ones. (see picture) For you knitters out there - she takes size 10 and we are looking for stars and stripes !
Her cell counts are all excellent and her liver and lungs are perfectly normal. Her nausea is now only sporadic and dwindling, but can be reactivated dramatically when we make suggestions from the Hospital menu. The most dramatic response can be achieved by suggesting "Cream-style Yukon Gold Potato" or "Boneless short ribs with Root Vegetable Ragout" !
Only two things stand between her and the cab back to Brooklyn. One is her level of steroids which is necessarily quite high at the moment to stimulate all the healing. There is a need to taper off the dose over the next four days, observe the response and decide on a low maintenance home dose.
The second slight obstacle is another mechanical torture machine upon which which the 'warders' require patient expertise prior to release. This is officially called the "Inspirometer" but would more aptly be termed the "lungopumpanhourgaspometer" or "another bloody machine" as Beverley puts it. (see illustration). Presumably in case Beverley decides to take a job as a blacksmith or try out for the Olympic track team they require her to ride the MAGNECISER while simultaneously playing Pomodoro Tagliatelli's Trumpet Concerto on her "lungopumpanhourgaspometer. " This additional physical insult is probably her reason for posting her protest statement above her counts on the board (see illustration.)

The big outside news today is the arrival from Phoenix of "Mr Bacon-Head" or my good and faithful friend Tom's Dad. When he and Jenny arrive in New York on Sunday it will be a wonderful extra "Boost" for all of us especially Beverley and Tom.

Thank you all for keeping up the faith. We cherish all your messages.

The Dad

David, if you have a pet name for me, I don't want to know it. "Mr. Baconhead" is so endearing! We'll have to put that on a T-shirt.

Glad to know that our visit will give you a boost. It will also give Lisa and Jay a boost. They'll be alone. Well, not totally alone, Jack and Addie will be their chaperones! I have a feeling they'll do a good job, too.

I have personally witnessed Bev utilizing the inspirometer. If her previous performance is any indication of how she'll master it, then I'd say she'll be bustin' out real soon. (Of course, Lisa and I cheered her on, so I hope that all of you are doing your best interpretations of
Brutus. You do know who Brutus is??)

The pictures are great. Glad to see that you haven't lost your fighting spirit, Bev. Won't be long and you'll be having real, honest to goodness food.

Jack and Addie had a pretty full day. They visited the NICU on their way to the eye dr. It's all good. They got to visit with their (and our) favorite NICU nurses. They were impressed with the growth they've made.

Granny is almost done with the valance for the nursery window.
Hope to get it in place soon.

Mike's flight has been cancelled. the weather here isn't helping things at all. Now he's scheduled to arrive tomorrow early afternoon. Jack and Addie can't wait to meet Paw Paw Self, but they'll have to wait til tomorrow.

Keep those feet spinning and your lungs pumping! Maybe you'll be fit to do the Tour de France next year! You're already doin' steroids! Might as well take advantage!

Have a good evening!
Love to all! ;-) xoxo

Allright baby get on that bike and play into your kazoo!!!
Not much to report in Sunnyside. Interviewing, day playing on a monster adam sandler movie, where the lack of communication is staggering. Saw "Bourne...." last night. Fun, fast, jump cutty. Kali did the NY unit so that was fun to see the stunts he worked on. Trying to hook up with Mr. Larson for a little bike ride on the island, looks like tomorrow might be the day.
Get home soon. Miss our little catch up chats.
love kk

Hi Bev

Glad to hear you will be packing in lots of visitors to your Sloane suite before returning to 476.

Always love tp get the updates, and especially the photos.

Went riding today on a spanish horse next to the Atlantic ocean - very picturesque and the horse even did what I told him (most of the time!!)

Love ya

Thanks for the update! Bev you look so wonderful in the photo! It's so nice to read about your improvements!

We took a trip to wine country today. We just had a little wine at Sterling. Mostly we just drove around to the little towns and walked around. It was about 10 degrees hotter up north than where we live near San Francisco. But still not as hot as it is right now in most of the country. My parents are thrilled to be out of the midwest right now.

I'll post photos soon.

Hola!!! I love those photos girl- so great to see you up out of that bloody bed. I think from all accounts you are on the home stretch! I will have to buy a phone card so we can talk when you are up for it. After my dad had heart surgery years ago he had one of those lung machine blow things and man, he hated it. It was all we could do to keep him from hurling the thing against the wall, but they do let you go when you do well on it so I am sure you will be in a cab to Brooklyn in no time. Hope it will have cooled down by then too. All well down here- had a night off this weekend and stayed up til 5am drinking beer and dancing. Which I am now still paying for two days later... Ah, age. Miss you, lots of love and can't wait to hear you are out of there! Though I wil miss the blog. Maybe you can keep a new one going?! Much love- Trina
